Silver strikers football club has roped in services of its former midfielder Tonga Chimodzi in a two year contract.

Silver strikers has signed Taonga Chimodzi on a free transfer as his contract ended with Omonia Aradippoou football Club of Cyprus.

Silver strikers communications and engagement officer David Daniel Daunda told maziko radio station that the coming in of Chimodzi will  help to bring in more experience to club.

“Chimodzi is the type of player which silver strikers needs to increase the depth of the team, our squad contains more young players and the coming in of Chimodzi will bring more experience at the midfield

“We also expert that Chimodzi will showcase his expertise, experience and leadership qualities to the club which will lead the team to perform well in the coming season” said Daunda.

Tonga Chimodzi left Silver Strikers football club some ten years ago to play for Santos in South Africa where he played more than forty games in the South African club.

The central bankers are on position two in the country’s top flight league with fifty points from twenty games which the team played.

The team will face Mighty Wanderers on Sunday in the ongoing FDH cup at Bingu stadium.

Chimodzi has trained with the club for more than two months following the expiring of his contract with the Cyprus club Omonia Aradippou.

Taonga chimodzi is the third player to sign with his former team Silver strikers following the signing in Blessings Tembo and Frank Banda.
