Experts call for tight Security in the country’s borders

Health experts in the country have cautioned government to tighten security in all borders of the country.

This comes as neighboring countries like Zambia and South Africa are registering high number of COVID -19 cases.

Jobe said government should embark on awareness campaign in sensitizing people in the country on the essence of receiving the second dose of the COVID 19 vaccine.

“Our neighboring countries like Zambia and South Africa have been struck by the third wave of the pandemic. As such it is my plea to Malawi government to tighten security in all borders of the country because you can agree with me that in our boarders there is no security and foreigners are just entering anyhow, which is also compromising the security of the country.

George Jobe :Government should embark on awareness campaign in sensitizing people in the country.

“And it also responsibility of all Malawians in the country to keep on sticking to COVID 19 preventive measures as one way of preventing the virus from spreading in the country,” Said Jobe.

Jobe’s sentiments have come as many Malawians still have misconceptions that the first jab of Covid 19 had a lot of side effects on its receipients.

Jobe said government has the responsibility to protect its citizen from the pandemic.

He has however cautioned people in the country to continue adhering to COVID 19 preventive measures.

Malawi is expected to start administering the second dose of the COVID vaccine on Thursday, June 3, 2021.

According to ministry of Health Spokesperson Joshua Malango government is ready to commence the administration process across the country.
